There will be three transportation options during the Defeat of Jesse James Days this year to ensure that everyone gets home safe. JOYRIDE is back again this year for a FREE RIDE SATURDAY NIGHT and has expanded service to Thursday and Friday nights as well as Saturday night. The Rice County Safe Roads Coalition has provided JOYRIDE – Good times delivered – for three previous years and it has been very successful.

Let JOYRIDE get you home on Thursday, September 9 from 9 pm to 1:00 am; Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am. Rides are in the City of Northfield ONLY. A shuttle bus will be provided by EPIC Enterprise, Dundas and will pick up riders by the Entertainment Center on 5th and Water Streets. This bus will be clearly marked as the JOYRIDE bus and it is not the same as a First Choice Shuttle. Tickets are available at the Entertainment Center and most bars and restaurants in downtown Northfield. The tickets are solely for providing an address to the driver.

Thank you to the JOYRIDE Bus Sponsors: the DJJD Committee and Northfield Police Department and EPIC for providing the service. First Choice Shuttle will provide their shuttles in Northfield during the week of Jesse James Days serving Northfield with their $7.00 per ride in the City. They also service out-of-town riders for a $7.00 charge plus an additional $2.00 per mile out of the city limits. The shuttles will run 7:00 a.m. to bar close (1:00 am) on Friday and Saturday night and then 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday. First Choice Shuttle will pick up
riders at 5th and Water Street, in the parking lot by Forget Me Not Flowers as well as the many bars and restaurants around Northfield. You can contact them at 507-645-4447 for a ride or go to the 5th & Water Street pickup location.

City Gal Transportation. A new provider this year, owner/driver, Virginia Klinger will provide rides in the City for $5 per person and out of town for an additional $1.60/mile. Hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 am. A blue SUV will be parked on 6th Street just off Division or call 612-840-1687. Licensed by the City and insured.

Plan ahead and think before you drink a $7.00 or $30.00 or a totally free ride is certainly cheaper than a DWI. Coordinator and Contact: Kathy Cooper, Rice County Safe Roads Coalition, 507-319-3245. Kathy.cooper0215@gmail.com
