“The relocated Jesse,” he would tout.

Fraudulent specter in the Northfield air.

The invitation, retracted firm,
New lessons learned, a trail confirmed.

Invitation extended, a cautious hand,
To Dalton, an offer, a post they’d stand.
Imagine Jesse, aged and wise,
Before amazed and brand new eyes.

This time he’d act, not wild and deranged.
A chance for Jesse to set things right,
To behave this time, in the festival’s light.

Could Jesse live, a truth unfurled?

And now he wants to share the road?
Had Mr. Howard lived through time,
A centenarian’s wish to cross the line.

In Northfield’s quaint and peaceful space.
A festival was planned with care,
A reenactment to declare.
The town prepared to play their part,
To reenact this famous art.
But midst the plans, a tale arose,
A twist that fate itself composed.
