Royalty Scholarship Coronation – Entry Requirements and Information

1. The candidate must be at least 17 years of age by July 15^th of the current year of the coronation for the celebration in which they are competing.

2. A candidate must work within or have their permanent address within the Northfield School District #659.

3. A candidate is eligible to compete for the Royalty Scholarship Program as often as they like up through the age of 23; or until crowned part of the royalty.

4. A candidate may never have been married or had a marriage annulled. Upon accepting the title, the candidate agrees that they will not marry or become pregnant during their reign. The candidate may not be pregnant or have children.

5. A candidate must not have any visible tattoos or wear body piercing (excluding minimal pierced ears) with the discretion of the Defeat of Jesse James Days Royalty Committee.

6. The candidate should be in good health.

7. Each candidate must have a sponsor; i.e. employer, business, organization, etc.

8. Registration form, informational sheet, sponsor’s contract and entry fee must be completed and in the hands of the chaperone and/or Defeat of Jesse James Days Royalty Committee by the assigned deadline.

9. All candidates need to be available for interviews with the local media.

10. Banners, with the sponsor’s name, will be constructed after registration is complete. The banner is to be worn for all official appearances; prior to and through the entire celebration.

11. The candidate will be required to participate in the entire Royalty Candidate Program, from the time of registration to the end of the celebration week.

12. Full-time volunteer chaperones will be available to give guidance and direction in making proper appearances. There will be public appearances, luncheons, dinners, judged interviews and possibly other activities. It is the Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee’s desire to make this occasion a truly memorable experience in each candidate’s life.

13. A candidate authorizes the use of photographs, likeness, voice recording, autograph and name for all publicity and commercial purposes in connection with the Defeat of Jesse James Days.

14. If the number of royalty candidate applications exceeds 16, registration will be accepted according to the date received.
